Faucet Repair

  1. Loose Faucet Handle

A simple solution to this is to tightening the screw that holds the handle. Another cause might be due to a worn stem inside the handle. However if your faucet handle is not loose but it is hard to operate, the problem might be with the cartridge. Check if your cartridge has debris inside and clean it or lubricate if it is stuck. If it is defective, call a professional to replace.

  1. Dripping or leaky faucet

A leaky faucet is highly problematic for the home. The problem might be coming from the O-rings, lubricate the O-rings with silicone-based grease. If the problem persists, you need to replace the O-rings. For a dripping faucet, replace the valve seat.

  1. Low water pressure

The water pressure in your faucet might be low because your sprayer diverter is clogged. The diverter controls the water that goes into the faucet. If it is clogged, try cleaning it with vinegar. Note that the way you clean depends on whether your faucet is one-handled or double-handled.

  1. Spray Misting

This is when your faucet produces water unsteadily or erratically. The water will spray mist due to lack of enough air. The main cause of this is the aerator. Your faucet aerator might be loose, clogged or defective. If it is loose, screw tightly. Clean thoroughly if it is blocked but if these do not work, then you need a professional to replace your worn aerator.

  1. Noisy Faucet

If your faucet is making funny hammering noise after you turn it off, it is known as water hammer. You might want to install an air chamber. If you already have an air chamber, it may be clogged with debris. If you find debris in your air chamber, clean thoroughly. Contact a professional to install an air chamber.
